Itinerary
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive through the Andes up to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will admire the Urubamba range and different field crops belonging to the Chinchero community. We will then cross the town of Urubamba, the most important of the Sacred Valley, followed by the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo.
We’ll start the hike in Cacchiccata community, walking through the valley and amidst terraces and water channels until reaching the skirts of Apu Buena Negra, the most important mountain of the community. Once in the heart of the community, we will get involved in activities oriented to preserve the environment as well as those aiming to support the sustainable development of the community. We will plant native trees like Quiswar and Chachacomo, work on an organic garden and participate in educational programs.
On our way back we may visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo (optional). We will then take the transport back to Cusco, our hotel in the Sacred Valley or to the train station to take the train to Machu Picchu. End of our services.
