After a short drive to our trailhead, the porters will lead the pace through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba River. We will set our first camp at Huayllamba near the Kusichaca River with an amazing upper view of the Sacred Valley.
Get ready to go up to the Warmihuañusca pass (13,860 ft), from here, is possible to see the Runkurakay ruins. The time stops at the top of the world, enjoy the view. We will go down to Pacaymayo for our second camp.
We start the day going up to Runkurakay circular ruins. A great forest and abrupt hills surround us. We Take the ancient road down to Sayamarca ruins (11,946 ft), after, we enter into the jungle to find the Phuyupatamarca ruins. Later that day we cross “ The Tunnel” a natural cavity produced by the landscape but adapted by the Incas. This steps of history will take us to a 3-hour walk until we reach Wiñaywayna, the main archeological site after Machu Picchu in the Inca trail.
